Abby Miller and Taylor Love - Loudoun County, Va

Abby Miller is a young musician with a big voice and an even bigger heart. CBS News has called Abby "a cross between Miley Cyrus and Goodwill Ambassador." Though only 13, Abby has chosen to use her musical gifts to help children in need. In less 4 years Abby has reached over 5 million people with her message of hope, courage and compassion. During the past 3 years Abby has helped raise over $400,000 for childhood cancer research.

Abby's first television appearance was a public service announcement on suicide prevention. Abby sang Amazing Grace and played the central character in the award-winning video. Since the spot began airing, several thousand young people have called the emergency suicide Help Line and received assistance.

In 2008, Abby met a little girl who would change her life - Taylor Love. 5-year-old Taylor is battling a rare form of cancer with no known cure. Abby began dedicating songs to Taylor and posting them on YouTube. She also has performed at two fundraisers on behalf of Taylor. The two girls have formed an incredible bond.

An eighth grader, Abby and her family are from the Virginia suburbs. She has one sister named Alexa who is a standout lacrosse player and student.

11-year-old Abby Miller performs "Keep Holding On" in honor of Taylor Love (Avril Lavigne)

Abby Miller is a teenager with a passion for music – she enjoys playing the guitar and singing, and she is good at it! But more importantly, Abby also has a passion for a very special friend. Abby’s friend is a young girl named Taylor Love, and the two have been inseparable friends as long as they’ve known each other. When Taylor was very young, she was diagnosed with cancer, and a few years later she was diagnosed with a second form of cancer. And when that happened, Abby showed the depth of her passion for her friend…..

Out of love for her friend, Abby took her other passion, music, and decided to use it to raise money and awareness to help Taylor. Abby adopted the motto “her battle is my battle”, and today she has raised over $400,000 and helped not only Taylor but countless others fighting the same brave battle as her friend!

This video shows Abby making a public service announcement on behalf of her friend Taylor.
